When it comes to supervillains, there is one that puts all else to shame: Venom.
One of the most terrifying and fascinating figures in Marvel’s fold, the eponymous film epic, Venom, hits the big screen today with Tom Hardy starring as Eddie Brock—the man who merges with the evil force.
The story is set into motion with Eddie attempting to revive his career as an investigative journalist—a story point that serves as the crux of the tale. That’s where STALKR stepped in.
We worked with Alan Baumgarten, who was also the editor on Molly’s Game, to illuminate Eddie’s thrilling and action-packed journalist career, tapping into footage of protests around the Bay Area to build a backstory of impressive reporting from the front-line.
Protests are marked by individual anonymity—it’s the cause and the group that shine, a component that made the process of identifying individuals and clearing footage an interesting task. We reached out to grassroots organizations such as Eviction Free San Francisco to help us identify protestors and secure more material that captured the essence of Eddie’s career on screen—a career that ignited a run-in with one of the most iconic villains in history.
