The collective of filmmakers behind STALKRFILM are seemingly always creating inspiring and thought-provoking pieces. In fact, it’s their ceaseless flow of filmmaking that gives the dynamic and highly original STALKRFILM library life.
“Coming To My Senses,” a feature documentary from Encompass Films (made up of filmmaking duo Nadia and Dominic Gill) is a direct encapsulation of this.
The film tells the story of Aaron Baker, a former motocross athlete who broke his neck in a near fatal accident in 1999, rendering him a complete quadriplegic. Baker’s spent the past 20 years defying the promises of a grim prognosis; his tenacity comes out in full force in “Coming To My Senses” as audiences watch him embark on an epic journey: crossing a 20 mile tract of Death Valley unsupported on foot.
The film masterfully delivers a captivating story filled with unabashed honesty, determination, and the will to overcome odds. It’s a must-watch, so we couldn’t be more thrilled to have it hit Amazon Prime for streaming.
“Coming To My Senses” made its world premiere at the Austin Film Festival back in 2017 where it took home the Hiscox Courage Audience Award; the powerful documentary was also awarded Best Action Sports Film at the Mammoth Film Festival in 2018 and Best Documentary Feature at the Red Rock Film Festival in 2017.
